There Is No Normal!

This past week I have listened to two different family situations that suck. Neither of them involved my family(just to let you know). One involved control and abuse and the other alcoholism and abandonment basically. I know these things happen but it is horrible when someone you know has or is going through this. What do you say? All I know is that no family situation can be classified as normal!
I just thought I would start off with that because it was a big revelation for me!
On to other things......
The boys are doing well in baseball. Brandon had a really good practice tonight. I feel so bad for that child. Brandon and Jarrett are two totally different kids. To Jarrett things come easier than they do Brandon. Grades and sports are two of the biggies. Brandon has to work and work at everything. He is such a happy(most of the time) child and I want him to stay that way. Sometimes it just feels like he is going to give up at any minute. Then he surprises you and pulls a little extra out of his hat. His teacher has noticed that he hasn't been trying as hard so we had a big talk while we were going over the not so great report card!
While the boys are at practice Mom and I take a walk down the trail. We forgot to invite Grandma tonight. She probably wasn't going to go anyway. She retired like three weeks ago and has been busier than ever! She's doing a lot of projects at home, she has been doing a lot of stuff with her friends from the store she worked at and she has been spending quite a bit of time with the great grand kids! I really think she is loving retirement!
She did take the time to give me a call about the whole "other woman" situation. She said she didn't even think Jason was cheating! LOL She thought someone might have been steeling stuff because there have been a few break-ins in the area. It is so nice to have family that close to watch out for you. Some people aren't that lucky. I don't know what I'd do without all these guys so close.
