I'm totally stressed out, not sleeping and I've lost all faith in humanity! It really is amazing that people act the way they do! So here comes another great post fueled by the need for people to shut the F up! No this has nothing to do with anything else but just something that has been on my nerves!
For the 100th time recently, I read on Facebook where someone has posted something about their job. Rough day at work, things were crazy today, really don't want to go to work tomorrow, etc, etc, etc. As usual someone has to post this, "Be thankful you have a job!" UGH! That drives me nuts! I understand that the past few years have been rough in the employment department. I realize that millions of people lost their jobs and homes but come on! People are hiring!
Jason and I were very lucky to have kept both our jobs. We slowed down for a while but things have definitely picked up! Most of my company is on mandatory 7 days a week. Some people even working 12 hours a day! Jason's shop has also been working overtime.
This is what gets me: Everyday my company brings in temps and everyday the temps go right back out the door! We can't seem to keep anybody and the workers we do get, well, most of them don't want to work! The half that do, can't even pass their drug teast! It really is crazy! You hear everyone complaining about the need for a job but where are those people?
I understand that I do factory work and most people would rather be in an office but a paycheck is a paycheck! It all pays the bills! Plus we have benefits and bonuses. I like working there. Most of the people are ok and once they get past the fact that I don't have a penis, all is good! LOL
It makes me wonder if all this has anything to do with the 99 weeks of unemployment. I agree that some people really do need that much time to find a job but in our area it seems as though things are looking up. Or maybe it's the free Internet, cell phones, cable or gas cards that the government gives out. Trust me I know. When we do get temps that stick around they tell us all about it! It really is crazy all the assistance you can get! It makes me wonder if the working middle class really aren't the poorest of the poor anymore!
I do believe that there are people out there that truly need the assistance. I also believe that it should be a stepping stone to getting back on your own two feet. Not a lifestyle! I also believe that there are great assistance programs to help people go back to school and with child care but like I said stepping stones!
What do you think? Are things looking up in your area?
